A Milestone. 200 Followers!

Today I reached 200 followers. It hasn’t been a shoot for the stars type of propulsion. It’s been sputtering, stalled on the roadside of well-intentioned plans. My blog has seen the worst of me and the best of me (so far). I’ve left it neglected for months, years if I’m honest. I’ve also poured my mind and heart into it. I told myself that this year I would be better at doing what makes me happy and helps me to grow. This blog and my activity in it is one of those things.

So while others have had shorter lives than mine and faster rises in readership, I accept and respect the time that it took to get here. When I didn’t give it what it deserved, I got very little back. When I dedicated hours of my life to making it the best of what I could offer (so far) it flourished and rewarded. I haven’t deserved a meteoric rise because I didn’t produce meteoric dedication.

So I appreciate every single one of my followers, even the ones that I never hear from. I’m not scary most of the time. Shoot me a hello, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you everyone for your support and encouraging words which have at times been just what I’ve needed to persevere in my efforts to bring you thoughtful, funny and truthful content.

I know this isn’t an Oscar acceptance speech, but I’m going to be honest with you all. Dear Readers, I’ve had my eye on 200 for a while. I sort of set this number as a personal goal a while back and, as I’ve said, it’s been slow, but it’s been steady. And I’m getting old enough to appreciate slow and steady.

Hugs and Kisses,

Lyz-Stephanie

  1. Lyz what a beautifully written post! I feel the same regarding blogging, I put so much effort and love into it but the growing is so slow. Some days I am disappointed and I do not feel like writing but then people like you and thoughts comments come along and yet I write another post.
Thanks so much for the inspiration.

    1. It’s great to hear that you can relate. I don’t mean that I want you to grow slowly, although there is something nice about being able to have a closer relationship with our readers. I’m glad that we can help each other to stay motivated. Your site is really beautiful and the time you spend is obvious. It’s just a matter of time. xx
