Outfit Post: Ballerina Skirt and Leather Boots

One of my favorite things about putting an outfit together is creating something that is uniquely mine. I love to have fun with clothes. That’s the point of us not all walking around in uniforms, right?

So, if we’ve decided as a society that clothes should be a reflection, then I plan on running with it. If you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll tell you that my style of clothes changes like the sand dunes of the Sahara, daily. No two days are alike. Sometimes I like to channel a mood, or an era, or a particular culture. Sometimes, I just like to throw things into the air and see what lands together. I’m speaking figuratively; I only wish I was that wild. Maybe some day.

 

Some days, my outfits don’t seem to have a rhyme or reason, but something about it just works for me. And that’s really what counts. Of the fun I have with clothes, unexpected combinations is at the top of the short list.

Here I’ve combined a soft pink ballerina tutu skirt with a black crop top, black leather boots and a snapback. What would I call this look? Hodgepodge. I’ve been known to pair these boots with just about everything that I own. They are a stable in my wardrobe.

I’m a very squirmy sort. I probably switch positions a dozen times when engaged in an activity. Except for writing. I usually stay hunched over my journal or the computer until I’m quite sore and then I lean back into my perfect chair that you’ll all remember.

 

It’s great to be a lady, but it’s even better to be ready for whatever adventure might come my way.
