What is old is new again. When you were a kid, you made fun of floral wallpaper. You gawked at the tight bundles of roses against the green backdrop. “This is so old lady,” you laughed, feeling superior. You’re with it. It’s the 90s and stripes are where it’s at. You know things.
And now, many years later, while browsing the home design website that you love, you set eyes on a gorgeous floral covered room that captures your heart. At first you recoil. This isn’t right. I shouldn’t like this. This is some kind of propaganda trick. Floral wallpaper is old lady. Floral wallpaper is cheesy.
Except you are wrong. It doesn’t take long for you to admit it. You’re intrigued.

I like this style of post! It’s fun to look at these images and imagine a story of the people who live in it 😀
I really love the child’s bedroom one. It’s like a fairytale forest with the owls and the deers 😀 ❤

I’m glad you like it. I’m trying to combine two loves here, lol. The child’s room is certainly fairy tale forest quality. It males me imagine being Sleeping Beauty and talking to all the animals. 😊

Sitting on the back porch and painting the view. Sounds delicious. Alongside a glass of iced tea maybe to tide the sultriness of the evening? Each of them grabs my eyes. When we moved into Northampton, I was crushing heavily on a house with an accent wallpapered wall in one of the bedrooms. Unfortunately we did not end up going for that house, but the memory of it remains. Btw in Calcutta, my parents have accent walls with the old wallpapers that they had bought in Oman aeons ago. They show signs of aging yet they do look so pretty and transport me to another headspace.

I wish I was a skilled painter and could sit out on that porch. Iced tea would be just the needed thing for that scene. I have this vision of your parents place looking cozy and exotic with that worn wallpaper on the walls. It feels nice to be enveloped.
