An Ode to the Evening Sun

This is one of my favorite times of day. The sun is going down off to the side of my kitchen window, and as Emily Dickinson would say, “there’s a certain slant of light.”

The light is golden and dancing on the windowsill. I want to call it something else. Golden is so played out, but the light is golden.

I hope this video doesn’t stay sideways.

Normally the succulents and cacti are all lined up here, but today was a cleaning day.

Sometimes I catch myself standing at that window for long periods of time just staring at the moving shadows and light and the way they interact.

On Monday, the Sun and Moon are going to put on a show. They’ve been waiting a long time for this part of the play. Let’s give them the audience they deserve.

    1. You need some major help! Hahaha. I stare at them all the time wondering if they are feeling okay. Do they need more water? Less? This is the best I’ve ever done. Maybe you should move on from succulents and try cacti. 🙂 🙂 Lol There’s lots of types of cactus and now they are making them in really pretty colors too!
