Outfit Post: Jeans and a Tee

I’m normally found in a sundress on the weekends, but when the South Florida heat starts turning down a notch, it’s time to pull out my jeans again.

 

This is a really casual outfit that I wear for running around town, doing stuff with the kids, or going out for a walk in nature as I was doing this past Saturday.

 

Can you spot the rain drops falling?

One of my favorite things about these jeans is the stretch. I’ve owned them for years and they’ve seen me through many fluctuations in my weight. They’ve been tighter than this and looser, but they always manage to look good. They also kind of act as my scale. Do any of you use clothes to monitor your weight?

I love the fact that there’s no gap in the space where my back leads to my butt, so a belt or alterations isn’t necessary. Some of you ladies know the struggle I’m referring to.

I like to keep the bottoms rolled up on these pair as I find the length more flattering that way.

Getting rained on or just watering the flowers?

I love my Star Wars tee shirt for a few reasons. I love Star Wars. It’s really lightweight. It’s black, but it’s got lots of color as well, which means that I can be basic without being basic. In other words, it’s low-key interesting.

I told a friend of mine recently that I’ll still be wearing this tee when I’m 80 years old, and I mean it.

I’ve got 3 pairs of All Stars and this is my one love pair. Is it somewhat juvenile? Yes. Do I care? No. Also, Converse are so extraordinarily comfortable that I walked around the park for hours in the rain and my feet never hurt me. It’d be a shame for someone not to own at least one pair. And what an investment. I don’t want to be a part of any future that doesn’t include Converse All Stars. They are cool regardless of age or decade. Long may they live.

Remember that being comfortable doesn’t have to mean being lame. Just adding little interesting details like a tee shirt that says something about who you are or what you’re into can make a big difference. And above all, make sure that your jeans are working hard for you.
