So today’s outfit post has a vintage edge. It’s a look that I love playing with, as many of you know. I’ve got a deep love for just about anything vintage. I can’t remember where I bought this top, but I do remember collapsing it into my chest and breathing a heavy sigh. How do I remember this so clearly? I don’t. I just imagine that it must have been my reaction. It’s one of the ways that I react to beautiful things. We won’t talk about the humping.
This top transports me to a time when librarians were queens of the library. Studded cat’s eye glasses? Yes, please.
Ruffling around the sleeves add an extra bit of femininity to this already feminine blouse.
I combined the blouse top with a short flowy skirt. Sometimes I’ll pair it with a knee length pencil skirt instead, but I like mixing things up. To me, this combination is a bit flirtier, more whimsical, while remaining grown up. The shoes are a bold statement, and I like how the bow across the toes carries the vintage vibe all the way through.
Here’s what I imagine my grandmother would have looked like wearing this outfit.
Not bad grandma!
Don’t forget that if you’re looking to visit another decade, thrift stores are a great place to start. And if you want to strike a good balance, pair older styled pieces with something modern.
Do you love vintage? How do you get your fix?
