Fall is teasing us with it’s dashing presence– it’s literally here one moment and gone the next. We Florida gals like to channel the fall feeling in any way possible. For me, it’s primarily through color; my sweaters get very little action. We also need to be prepped for changing weather. One of my favorite types of outfits for this time of year is a loose sweater of medium thickness and a high-waist pant.
I wore this outfit twice in two weeks because I could care less– two different groups of people. On the first night, I was heading to a comedy show here in Fort Lauderdale. I hadn’t been out of the house for a while it seemed and wanted to add a bit of polish for the occasion.
So I slicked my hair into a smooth tight bun, added dangling earrings, a big gold cuff, and wine colored lipstick.
Because this sweater is cropped, it allows plenty of breeze to circulate if things warm up, and it’s thick enough to keep the chill out. I always pull up my sleeves, so I love that the fitted sleeves stay where I put them.
Of course, the sleeves can be pulled down if the weather get’s too cool. It’s also great to have your legs protected from chill while keeping in mind that the day may turn hot again. A long high-waisted pant in a lightweight fabric is a great way to have summer and fall working side by side.
I also appreciate that while it’s a crop top, I can raise my arms without flashing boobs.
I have about three pants in this same style and they are so easy to pair with different styles of tops.
So that was the night time look.
This week I decided to go a bit more natural with my look and let my hair down for an afternoon in Miami. The city of Wynwood is preparing for the huge artistic event that is Art Basel and it was a breezy day. Energy was in the air.
Making my way up to Sugar at EAST, Miami. Far out dude.
No earrings this time, and no lipstick, just a long dangly necklace and lip gloss.
I love the colors and fit of this outfit, not to mention the pockets, but my favorite aspect is that it’s so easy to wear. High waist and a crop top match made in fashion. Stay sexy, my friends.

Thanks girlie 💜 I like that one two. I got the idea from pulling down branches to keep the sun out of my eyes. And then I said, Huh, I bet this would look good too. 😄 xo

As always, your outfit posts are amazing! I love the colour of the sweater, is it called burgundy? I don’t know, but it’s that nice deep red. Suits you 😀

Oh wow, thanks Ang! I’m glad you’ve been liking them. You know the work of selecting and cropping, etc. It’s nice to hear that it turned out well done. 🙂 Yes, burgundy, wine. I love it too. I bought this same sweater in black and then couldn’t resist the beautiful color of this one.
