Instagram Fashion: January

Here is a sampling of the fashion that’s been inspiring me this month.

Good gracious, this outfit has so much that I love: menswear, pink, pinstripes, high-waisted pants, plain white tees and embroidery. This shirt reminds me of my shirt that I hand embroidered last year. I’m inspired to get back to making custom embroidered pieces. I would wear this outfit until it fell apart.

I realize that I have nothing silky in my closet. It’s something that I’ve been wanting for a while now and I’d love to find something silky with stretch like this beautiful pumpkin spice dress. In fact, I already own the shoes!

I love seeing color combinations that I wouldn’t have imagined myself. I want to take a look in my closet and make an intentional effort to combine some colors in new ways. I can’t wait to see what I come up with.

I’m pretty sure my heart stopped when I landed eyes on this outfit. The color combination, the fucking cool pattern, the sexy cutouts. I feel somehow like I bought this entire gym outfit in my sleep, typed in the wrong address, and it got delivered to her instead of me. I want my outfit back! This should belong to me.

I think you all know how much I love nature-inspired things. Coincidentally, bathing suits are the only place where floral is missing in my life. I want it! The print, tones and cut all feel vintage inspired. Nature and vintage combined? Yes, please!

This look feels very Parisian to me and I love Parisian. I must admit that I’m sick and tired of seeing hundreds of fashion bloggers refusing to wear their shirts and coats properly on their shoulders these days and I’m fully over seeing this fucking belt in my feed, but I love the flash of laciness paired with casual jeans and a loose shirt. I’ve got a tiny collection of men’s shirts that I’m inspired to pull out of my closet.

I’m pretty sure my lack of thigh gap will not work very well in these pants, but this outfit is a stunner. It’s inspiring me to make more use of the bolder pieces in my wardrobe.

Corduroy, bootleg, tone on tone. So lovely. I’m a big fan of mixing colors of the same tonal family, but I rarely do it. That’s something I’m excited to try out more. Also, the pants wear like jeans but add something special to an everyday look.

I currently own no one-piece bathing suits, but lately I’ve been wanting something. This piece is very different from what I’d normally wear, but that’s what I like about it. This pattern makes me think eclectic old lady style. I’d wear this on a tropical vacation.

Someone please put me into this flowing goodness, stick me on a plane and drop me off somewhere exotic. I love everything about this outfit. Everything! I don’t know what else to say.

My heart almost stopped when I saw this brilliant sequined shirt. While sequins is usually reserved for night hours, these pastel colors and blousy cut make it seem almost made for daytime. If I am every able to buy this top I’ll probably sob like a baby and cry my baby tears all over it. I currently have four sequined pieces in my closet- only one I could imagine wearing during the day. But I’m wondering if a crafting project may be in order to get more sparkles into my days. P.S. If anyone would like to buy this shirt for me, I’ll gladly accept. Thanks in advance!
